Today, a little switch from my normal real estate blatherings. Instead, I have something else on my mind – FOOD! I wanted to share with my readers one of my favorite little places in downtown St. Petersburg.
A few month’s ago, while walking down Central Avenue, I smelled the most amazing aroma coming from a local eatery. My husband and I discovered it was coming from Moscato’s Bella Cucina. We were lucky to get a cozy little table near the front door – the place was packed and had a live band playing tunes by Sinatra. We ordered the Tomato Basil Bruschetta to start. Homemade bread. This was our first clue that this was going to be a great meal. Next up – I had the Eggplant Parmesan (but subbed the penne pasta for the homemade linguine) – to die for. My husband’s entire family is Italian, so I know what real, homemade Italian tastes like. This was it. And dare I say the Eggplant was as good as Nana’s eggplant! My husband ordered the Homemade Sausage with Linguine – equally delicious. Finally we topped it off with my all-time favorite dessert – Tiramisu. I’ve tried Tiramisu in many places, and few do it right. Moscato’s Tiramisu was out of this world – we devoured every last bite.
So the next time you are in downtown St. Pete, craving some good, homemade Italian eats – you must give Moscato’s Bella Cuicina a try. But a word of warning – if you are going on a Friday or Saturday, its highly recommended you make a reservation because they are always packed and it may take a little while. But sip a glass of wine, enjoy the live music – and get ready for one of the best Italian meals you’ve ever had!
