Today I was fortunate to attend the groundbreaking for the newest luxury condominium project to hit Tampa Bay. The 24-story Virage Bayshore will reside on one of the last high-rise-zoned spots available on Bayshore Boulevard.

The tower will have 71 residences — 61 priced at over $1 million to $2.5 million, and 10 going for $3 million to $5 million. The top 2 floors will have a single penthouse each, with 6,700 square feet and 360-degree views of Hillsborough Bay, South Tampa and Downtown Tampa. Below that will be 4 floors with two 4,400-square-foot residences per floor. With amenities that one can only dream of, Virage is no ordinary condominium tower. So far more than $75 million in contracts have been signed, and the tower is 60% sold.  Because of the success of the pre-construction sales, the tower could open as early as late 2019.
