According to a recent Realtor.com article, Top 10 Most Searched Markets of 2010, our own Tampa Bay ranked Number 9. Wondering what other markets placed? Well, the top searched market was Las Vegas, and the second spot was held by Los Angeles. The third spot on our 2010 top 10 list was Orlando, the fourth was San Antonio, the fifth was Miami, and the sixth was Phoenix. Other top 10 markets include San Diego (7), Austin (8) and Chicago (10). Yeah – we beat out the windy city!
Earlier in 2010, our country experienced an increase in sales and pricing due to the Federal Tax Credit for First Time Homebuyers and Move-Up Homebuyers. When the credit expired in April, prices dipped for awhile, but now the numbers have begun to stabilize again to where they were back pre-April 2010. Inventory levels (number of homes on the market) have recently decreased to their lowest level in over 5 years – a great sign for the recovery of the Tampa Bay real estate market!
